How to Visit Switzerland in only 4 days: Your Ultimate Itinerary for Luxury, Breathtaking Views and Snow

Experience the magic of Switzerland in a whirlwind 4-day journey! If you're in search of breathtaking views, luxurious experiences, and a snowy wonderland but find yourself unsure of where to begin, fear not. Join us as we guide you through the best things to do, ensuring your Swiss adventure is nothing short of extraordinary!

Day 1: Zurich - The Urban Playground

We took an early flight from London to Zurich landing around 9am our first stop was FIVE Zurich (avg £180 per night), around a 30 minute drive from Zurich Airport, a contemporary hotel which recently opened in Summer 2022. FIVE, is no stranger to those who have experienced its popularity in Dubai!

Suavais Travel Top tip: Early flights tend to mean you can explore as soon as you land and in some cases check in early, always remember to check with your hotel first if this is an option beforehand.

The Zurich branch gives off an upbeat vibe with its modern design, award winning restaurants and vibrant atmosphere, perfect for a summer or winter getaway. FIVE boasts an indoor and outdoor pool with the indoor pool benefiting from full spa facilities, including Sauna, Steam room and Massage rooms. Getting around the building to each wing is done via an underground tunnel which separates the building, think of it like a cool immersive experience!

FIVE Zurich, is conveniently located around a 15-minute drive from the city. Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse draws the same similarities to London, laden with high-end stores, upscale restaurants, and lively bars easily accessible via local modes of transport (Uber, Bus, Train).

Suavais Travel Top tip: Ubers are very common in Switzerland but prices are very high, a 10 minute journey could set you back around £15-20

Day 2: Grindelwald - Alpine Wonderland

On Day 2, we embarked on a scenic train journey of around 3.5 hours passing through Spiez to the picturesque Alpine village of Grindelwald. We arrived at Bergwelt Grindelwald (avg £377 per night w/mountain views) a charming accommodation nestled amid the stunning snowy landscapes overlooking the famous Eiger mountain, a perfect view when using the outdoor Jacuzzi! This cozy retreat provided a perfect base to explore the beauty of the famous alpine village, Grindelwald.

Suavais Travel Top tip: When in Switzerland, be prepared to travel – the train network is very user-friendly, especially when following apps like Google Maps or CityMapper. The trains also offer sufficient room for those traveling with suitcases. However, reaching the snow-capped mountains requires multiple train switches, so it's essential to be prepared!

Day 3: Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe

We set off on an exhilarating adventure to Jungfraujoch, the "Top of Europe," accessible by a thrilling cable car ride.

The journey itself is an experience, with breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and quaint Alpine villages. On the way to the top of Jungraujoch there's various different routes to take.

Suavais Travel Top Tip: When exploring Jungfraujoch or Eigergletscher, keep in mind that the breathtaking views are weather-dependent. If the weather takes a turn, the cable cars may not be operational. To ensure an optimal experience, plan ahead and aim to start your journey as early as possible!

Day 4: Crans-Montana - A Journey through Mountains

We then journeyed from Grindelwald to Crans-Montana approximately a 3 hour journey to Seine and a further 20 minute journey via funicular to Montana Gare where a complimentary pick up will transport you from the funicular station to Six Senses. En route, the views were nothing short of spectacular, with mountains towering on either side. Our stay at Six Senses Crans- Montana (avg £800 per night) was a highlight, a haven that not only offered luxurious comfort but also embraced sustainability and wellness. The hotel's commitment to the environment and its wellness amenities added an extra layer of enjoyment to our Swiss adventure.

Day 5: Journey Back to Geneva Airport

As our Swiss escapade drew to a close, we boarded a train back to Geneva Airport, a journey of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes with a direct flight to London.
